Have you ever wanted to workout but don’t know where to start? Or maybe, you’re scrolling through social media and cannot seem to grasp how everyone has their routine together so perfectly. If you want to better visualize your goals and reach them, look no further. This is your sign to start that fitness vision board and create the aesthetic fitness life you have always wanted. But how do you organize all your fitness goals and visualizations in a way that ensures you will actually follow through? Follow these simple planning tips and watch your imagination come to reality.

Start Small

Having goals is great and will definitely help you plan out your fitness journey. However, there is a slippery slope between setting real benchmarks versus creating unreasonable expectations for yourself. To help combat this possibility, make your checkmarks smaller. If you start small, you will be more likely to achieve these goals which will motivate you to gradually set higher goals for yourself. On the other hand, if you feel that you are someone who can’t help but set crazy goals, make sure to create sub-goals to help you reach your bigger goal. This will give you a guide so you can achieve what you set out to do.

Words, Vision, Action, Evaluation

This is a great step-by-step method in visualizing and reaching your fitness goals effectively.

Words: This is all about writing. Write down not only your goals but also what you have to do each day to reach them. Plan out your days, create checklists, and write in your calendar!
Vision: Create a vision board. What do you want this journey to look like? When you can visualize the type of exercise you want to do and the type of food you want to eat, it is much easier to allow it to come to life.

Action: This is the phase in which you carry out your plans and vision board. Make that dream become a reality by implementing healthy habits into your daily life!

Evaluation: This is what you will do after each benchmark or goal. Maybe you can even implement a small evaluation every day. This is when you look back at your plans and see if your words and actions are lined up. Did you do what you planned on? If not, try brainstorming some ways to rectify this discrepancy.

Gather Your Materials

Now that you have your vision board and goals written, sometimes getting the right materials is important. You need the right gear and fuel to workout effectively. Fuel up on some healthier food options! Also, it is a good idea to make sure you have the right clothing to workout in so that you aren’t held back by restrictive clothes. Reward Yourself

This step goes hand in hand with the evaluation stage. When evaluating yourself, make sure to also be kind. For example, maybe you hit one of your goals early or did something that you weren’t expecting, go reward yourself! This will also create a system that will prevent burnout. When you reward yourself, you are more motivated to keep hitting these goals and focusing on yourself. These rewards can be as simple as watching your favorite movie or eating your favorite meal. Anything simple that will bring you joy, do it!

Be Patient

Always be patient with yourself when it comes to achieving your goals. Like the previous step says, it is great if you achieve something early or go above and beyond! However, avoid using negative reinforcement when you don’t reach a goal. Instead, go back and evaluate why you didn’t reach that goal. Try not to fall into the habit of putting yourself down. Instead, adjust and set goals that are more achievable for yourself.

Now get out there and create that vision board! You have all the tools to reach your goals at your disposal. Use them as needed and watch your imagination come to life before your eyes.
